// The Disciple a City Statement of Faith

God //

We believe there is only one God. He is the true God who is King, Creator, and Redeemer of all things. He is Holy, just, truthful, and loving. He has revealed Himself eternally existent in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit (Dt. 6:4, Matt. 28:19, Jn 1:14 & 10:30 and 2 Cor. 13:14).

The Bible //

We believe the Holy Scriptures (the Bible) are divinely inspired, completely trustworthy and the authoritative word of God for all Christian faith and practice. It is the sole authority and sufficiency with regard to the Christian faith and practice (2 Tim. 3:16-17 and 2 Pet. 1:20-21).

People //

We believe that mankind was originally created in the perfect image of God (male and female), yet we willfully rejected His Lordship and glory for which we were created. Because of this, sin and its consequences affect the world through sickness, death, judgment, and separation from God (Gen. 1:26 & 17, Gen. 3:17-24, Isa. 59:1-2, Rom. 3:9-19 & 23 and Eph. 2:1-3).

Jesus //

We believe in Jesus Christ as the one and only Son of God, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death, bodily resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of the Father, His present ministry of intercession for us, and His future return to earth in glory and power (Rom. 5:6-8, Luke 18:26-27, Jn. 1:1, Col. 2:9, Mark 10:45, Acts 2:22-24, Jn. 1:29, Rom. 3:25-26, Heb. 10:5-14, 1 Pet. 2:24 & 3:18, Jn. 20:20, Php. 3:20-21, Heb. 1:3, Rom. 8:34, 1 Jn. 2:1, Acts 1:11, Heb. 9:28, 1 Th. 4:13-18, 2 Th. 2:7, Matt. 24:44, Rev. 19:11-21).

Salvation //

We believe that we are only saved by the grace of God through faith in the person and the work of Jesus Christ, that His death and resurrection make possible the repentance of sin, and freedom from the power of the enemy (sin, sickness, torment and lies), and through believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, anyone can be restored to fellowship with God. No other acts, such as confession, prayer, baptism, good works, or spiritual gifts are to be added as a condition of salvation (Eph. 1:7, 3:1-7, 14-16; 2 Cor. 5:17, Rom. 1:16 & 10:9-10, Eph. 2:8-10, Rom. 8:14-17 & 31-39, Jn. 10:27-29 & 14:6, Acts 26:20 and 1 Pet. 1:3-5).

Holy Spirit //

We believe in the present ongoing sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, and through Holy Spirit’s indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a holy life and empowered to minister supernaturally. That the baptism of the Holy Spirit is poured out on all believers that they might have the power of God to be His witnesses (Acts 1:4-8 & 2:4; Jn. 16:7-15, 1 Cor. 6:19 & 12:13, Eph. 1:13-14, Eph. 4:30, Gal. 5:16-17, Gal. 22-23, Rom. 8:5-13, 1 Pet. 4:10-11, Rom. 12:3-8, Matt. 28:18-20, Col. 1:10 and Jn. 15:8).

The Church //

We believe that the church is all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. The church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and to advance His kingdom. We do this by undoing the works of the enemy through the power of the Holy Spirit, preaching and living out the good news of God’s love, and discipling the nations. We are all called to baptize and teach others to love and obey God (Acts 1:8, 1 Cor. 12:12-27, Eph. 1:20-23, 4:1-6, 4:12-16; Matt. 28:18-20, Jn. 17 and Col. 1:24-29).

The Afterlife //

We believe that both heaven and hell are real. There will be a resurrection of the lost and the saved; one to eternal death and separation, and the other to life everlasting (Jn. 3:18, Jn. 3:36, Rev. 20:5, Rev. 11-15 and 2 Th. 1:5-10).

This is the impact of our ministry partners through the mission of Disciple a City

We were so blessed by Disciple A City! The conference, along with the video series, continues to have an impact.  Simple, practical, and powerful! We have only just begun and are thankful for what God will do through this. Thank you.
